Road Runner's Press #3 Kista Science City/The Last Member of Parliament. Double-sided poster, 500 copies, 2007

Andreas Mangione and Hanna Dagerskog are Stockholm-based artists. Their neo-conceptual artistic practice mainly questions the role of citizenship in social democracy. Their work is often collaborative and research-based with specific interest in sites and their historical context.
For Consequences and Proposals, Andreas and Hanna have produced the next of issue Road Runner's Press #3 Kista Science City/The Last Member of Parliament. For this issue the artists have taken a walk through Kista Science City, a high-tech business cluster outside of Stockholm. The artists will re-read and interpret this place, focusing on aspects of urbanism and (corporate) architecture and analysing a production site of both knowledge and illusion, a node in the global network of telecom business. It is a place where the State, the City, the University and big business (Telecom and construction industry) have come together to create a vision of a Utopia.
Road Runner's Press #3 combines images of the business cluster and a reprint of the 7-page science fiction comic The Last Member of the Parliament from 1969, which pictures a fictitious battle for absolute power between dictatorship and a technologically advanced form of direct democracy.
