BARTHOL LO MEJOR

1988 Tartu. Lives in Tartu

Tri_VocalMess. Sound installation, 2007

Barthol's background is actually semiotics, but recently he has been very active in the field of sound art and electronic experimentation. Tri_VocalMess is an abbreviation of the phrase triple vocal message and the work plays with stereo-effects, using sliced sound text for the composition. The work is based on the rhythm of words which replace the instruments and at the same time explore the three-channel character of stereo sound where the third channel is generated by listener's perception. The composition is hypnotic in nature and imposes a strong impression on the listener.
The stories from different directions progress and join as they grow in tension until the listener is split by the message. If correctly listened, the third sound will blossom inside the head of the listener.
Close your eyes, stand between the speakers and focus on what you hear in your head!
