KAROL RADZISZEWSKI

1980 Bialystok. Lives in Warsaw

Fag Fighters. Digital colour print, video, installation, 2007

Karol Radziszewski is an artist based in Poland. He is the editor of DIK Fagazine – the first and only gay magazine in Eastern Europe, focusing on art and culture from the homosexual perspective.
For Consequences and Proposals he will produce the next episode of his Fag Fighters project – fag fighters are a group of gay terrorists who just arrived in Tallinn to spread anarchy. The story starts with artist's grandmother knitting pink terrorist masks for the members of the gang. She does not care if her grandson is gay or not, she just helps him without asking any questions. When the night falls, fag fighters start drinking beer and have a party somewhere in the panel flat area in Tallinn, afterwards they go hunting for guys to violate and rape. Fag Fighters plays with the clichés about homosexuality and terrorism. Whether the work is funny or serious, true or fictional, is up to the viewer to decide.
