One crazy naked woman, who dared to be honest. Chapter I. Video, 8 min, 2007
Merike Estna studied painting, but she also works with video and collage. Her works are mainly about people: relations, childhood innocence and corruption; about the system we live in and how it makes us behave. Her approach tends to be naive and critical at the same time, speaking of very crucial issues in a sweet and pleasant way. The world in her works is big, shiny and colourful, driven by two main forces: sex and war. The works presented in Consequences and Proposals are based on textual fragments taken from the bestsellers Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.
